Richard Henry Bartlett
Richard Bartlett (Service No 677) was born in Nowra, N.S.W. around 1884.
At enlistment he was single, 30 years old, worked as a farmer and lived at Bomaderry, N.S.W. He embarked from Sydney on HMAT A29 Suevic with 2nd Light Horse Brigade on 21st December 1914.
Richard, with the Light Horse Brigade, landed on Gallipoli on 12th May 1915. His active service was cut short when he was wounded in action on 20th May 1915 and evacuated to hospital in Egypt for treatment of shrapnel wounds to his head.
Deemed unfit for active service he was repatriated to Australia in August 1915 and discharged medically unfit on 9th November 1915.
In 1922 he married Lottie Rock in Maitland, N.S.W.
Richard died in Tamworth in 1953.
His brother, Thomas Bartlett (Service No 1245) also served.
