Frank Leon Dumont (Service No 4771), was born in Leyton, Essex, England, around 1880. and is possibly named Felix.

At enlistment, he was 30 years old, single, worked as a motor driver and lived in Helensburgh, N.S.W.

Frank embarked on HMAT A15, Star of England, with the 4th Battalion, 15th Reinforcement, on 8th March 1916. After disembarking in Egypt, he was transferred to the 56th Battalion, on 20th April 1916.

On 29th June 1916, Frank went to France and served on the Western Front. He was wounded in action on 22nd October 1916 and evacuated to hospital dangerously ill, with a gun shot wound to his right leg. Frank returned to duty on 21st July 1917 and was promoted to Lance Corporal on 17th December 1917. He returned to Australia in June 1919 and was discharged on 12th September 1919.

In 1936, Frank married Daisy Gill, in Cessnock, N.S.W.

Frank died in Newcastle, N.S.W., in 1963.
