James Duncan (Duncan Theodore McIntosh)
James Duncan was born in Charters Towers, Queensland.
When he enlisted in Kiama, NSW, James Duncan (Service no 2554) was single, 43 years of age, employed as a labourer and resided in Port Kembla, NSW.
He embarked on HMAT A24 - Benalla with the 37th Battalion, 5th Reinforcements on 9 November 1916. James arrived in England on 9 January 1917 and joined 37th Battalion in France on 9 April 1917. He saw service on the Western Front until admitted to hospital sick on 25 October 1917 where he was diagnosed with tumours on 6 April 1918 and returned to Australia in June 1918.
James was medically discharged on 25 November 1918 with Albuminuria.
James died in 1936 and is buried in Botany Cemetery, NSW.
