Briton Sexton Wilson
Briton Wilson (Serice no 17408) was born in Lithgow, NSW.
At the time of enlistment Briton was single, 20 years of age, employed as a draftsman and resided in Scarborough, NSW. He had previously served 5 years with the 37th Cadets.
Briton embarked on HMAT A46 - Clan Macgillivray with the 1917 Reinforcements on 10 May 1917. He arrived in England on 28 July 1917.
Briton joined the 8th Company Field Engineers in France on 29 November 1917 and was attached to the Topographical section on 15 February 1918.
Briton was promoted to Corporal on 2 May 1919 and returned to Australia in July 1919.
Briton was discharged on 20 September 1919.
On 14 January 1922 Briton married Elizabeth Rees.
Briton became the secretary of the 8th Field Company Engineers Association after the War.
He enlisted for service in World War 2 (Service no N390866) on 19 March 1942 and promoted to Lieutnant on 16 December 1942.
Briton served in Australia as a bomb disposal instructor and was discharged on 13h September 1945.
Briton died in Newcastle, NSW in 1974.
His brother, Edison Wilson (Service no 1948), also served.
