Henry Warner (Service No 5264) was born in Greenwich, England.

At enlistment with the Waratah March, Henry was single, 20 years old, worked as a factory hand and lived at Kiama, N.S.W.  He embarked from Sydney on SS Makarini with 1st Battalion, 16th Reinforcement on 1st April 1916.

Henry arrived in France on 20th May 1916 and joined 1st Battalion in the field on 27th July 1916.  He was wounded during the Somme Battles on 20th August 1916 but remained on duty. 

In early 1918 Henry was at Divisional Headquarters serving as a batman.

He was returned to Australia in June 1919 and discharged from the AIF on 28th August 1919.

On 10th September 1920 he married Hilda Blair in Kiama and the couple raised a family together.

Henry died in 1956; his service is commemorated on the Kiama Memorial Arch and Honour Rolls.
