Frederick Williams
Frederick Williams (Service no 6338) was born in Sydney, NSW.
At the time of enlistment with the Waratah March in Helensburgh, NSW, he was single, 19 years of age, employed as a clerk, resided in Clifton and had served with the Militia. He listed his guardian George Williams as next of kin.
Frederocl embarked on HMAT A14 - Euripides with the 1st Battalion, 20th Reinforcements on 9 September 1916. He arrived in England on 26 October 1916 and then France on 15 March 1917.
Frederick joined the 1st Battalion in the field on 11 April 1917. He was wounded in action between 5-8 May 1917 and evacuated to hospital in England for treatment of gun shot wounds to his left arm and leg.
Frederick was considered unfit for further active service and repatriated to Australia in October 1917. He was medically discharged on 3 April 1918.
Frederick died in 1974.
