Samuel Wallace Connolly
Samuel Wallace Connolly (Service No 56968) was born in Bulli, N.S.W.
In May 1907, he married Sarah Wheeler.
At enlistment he was 31 years old, married with 4 children and worked as a blacksmith.
Samuel embarked on HMAT A18 Wiltshire with the 1st Field Squadron Engineers, on 10th June 1918. He disembarked in Egypt on 17th July 1918 and was made a shoeing smith on 22nd November 1918.
Samuel returned to Australia in July 1919, and was discharged medically unfit on 30th January 1920.
Samuel and Sarah divorced in 1935.
Samuel died in Sydney, N.S.W., in 1962.
Samuel's brother, Albert Connolly (Service No 2543), also served.
