Edward Byron (Service no 3466) was born in Wollongong, NSW in July 1891.

At the time of enlistment he was a single 24 year old storeman who had served with the Cadets.

Edward embarked on HMAT A60 - Aeneas with the 17th Battalion, 8th Reinforcements on 20 December 1915. He joined the 17th battalion in Egypt on 15 March 1916 and they arrived in France on 23 March 1916.  Edward saw service on the Western Front.

Edward was admitted to hospital on 3 October 1917 but no reason on file as to why.

On 6 August 1919, Edward married Elizabeth Moran in Edinburgh, Scotland and they returned to Australia a family ship in April 1920.

Edward was discharged on 21 August 1920.

Edward died in Sydney, NSW in 1955 and is buried in Woronora Cemetery.
