William Morgan
William Morgan (Service no 2695) was born in Jodja Creek, NSW.
At the time of enlistment in Wollongong William was single, 34 years of age, employed as a miner and resided in Corrimal, NSW.
William embarked on HMAT A24 - Benalla with the 37th Battalioin, 5th Reinforcements on 9 November 1916. He arrived in England on 9 January 1917 and joined the 37th Battalion in France on 3 May 1917.
William saw service on the Western Front until he was wounded in action on 4 August 1917. He was evacuated to hospital in England for treatment of a gun shot wound to his shoulder and left ear.
William was repatriated to Australia in December 1917 due to a fractured right clavicle. He was medically discharged with a pension on 23 March 1918.
William's brothers Richard (Service no 2000), Charles (Service no 2028) and Robert also served.
