Thomas Williams (Service no 5304) was born in Corrimal, NSW.

At the time of enlistment Thomas was single, 21 years of age, employed as a miner, resided in Corrimal, NSW and had previously served with the Militia.

Thomas enlisted in Wollongong, NSW on 16 April 1915 but was discharged in May 1915 as unfit for duties of the Corps.

Thomas re-enlisted on 4 January 1916 in Liverpool, NSW.  He embarked on SS Makarini with the 1st Battalion, 16th Reinforcements on 1 April 1916. He arrived in France on 17 May 1916 and joined  the 1st Battalion in the field on 27 July 1916.

Thomas saw service on the Western Front until May 1917 when he was wounded in action.  He was evacuated to hospital for treatment of gun shot wounds to his left thigh and chest.

Thomas was repatriated to Australia in October 1917 and medically discharged on 3 April 1918.

Thomas re-enlisted on 17 September 1918 but was again discharged as unfit for duties of the Corps.

Thomas died in 1956.
