George Campbell (Service no 3114) was born in Gerringong, NSW.

At the time of enlistment David was single, 30 years of age, employed as a farmer and resided in Gerringong, NSW.

After he enlisted, George married Jean Miller in Sydney on 30 December 1916.

George embarked from Melbourne, Victoria on HMAT A42 - Boorara with the 6th Light Horse Regiment, 24th Reinforcements on 10 May 1917. He arrived in Egypt on 20 June 1917 and joined the 6th Light Horse Regiment and his brother David Campbell (Service no 1682) on 27 June 1917.

George was transferred to the ANZAC Mounted Division Train Australian Army Service Corps on 13 August 1917 and was joined by his brother on 10 September 1917.

George saw service in Egypt and was admitted to hospital in Cairo, Egypt for treatment of a septic knee on 11 May 1918.

George returned to Australia in March 1919 and was medically discharged on 21 May 1919.

He died in Gerringong, NSW in 1970.
