Henry James Moore (Service No 17272) was born in Dapto, N.S.W., in 1888.

At enlistment he was 27 years old, single and worked as a gardener.

Henry embarked on HMAT A15 Port Sydney with the 1st Light Horse Field Ambulance, 27th Reinforcement, on 9th May 1917. He arrived in Egypt on 20th June 1917 and joined the 1st Light Horse Field Ambulance in the field on 15th August 1917. Henry saw service in Egypt and the Middle East.

On 12th October 1918, he was admitted to hospital with malaria. Henry was invalided to Australia in February 1919 and discharged medically unfit on 22nd May 1919. In 1961, his discharge papers were found in some clothes that had been sent to a charity.

Henry died in Parramatta, N.S.W., in 1961.
