Robert Moore (Service no 6518) is the alias of Norman Moore was born in Rule Creek, Tasmania.

Robert's brother, Edmund Moore (Service no 1393), also served and was killled on the Gallipoli Peninsula Turkey on 19 May 1915.

Norman Moore (Service no 2353) enlisted on 9 November 1915 with the 1st Light Horse Brigade but after his father wrote to the Army, he deserted from camp.

Norman re-enlisted in April 1916 as Robert Moore and stated he was single, 19 years of age, employed as a farmer and resided in Gerringong, NSW. He was only 16 years old at the time.

Norman embarked on the HMAT A60 - Aeneas with the 4th Battalion, 21st Reinforcements on 30 September 1916. He arrived in England on 19 November 1916 and joined the 4th Battalion in France on 28 June 1917.

The reality of War for a 17 year old kicked in and he was Court Martialled on 9th December 1917 and sentence to 10 years.

On 6 January 1918 this sentence was suspended and Norman was posted to 3rd Casualty Clearing Station - Base Depot on 22 March 1918 until he reached 19 years of age. Norman signed a statutary declaration on 25 April 1918 stating his true name.

He returned to Australia in January 1919 and was discharged on 1 April 1919.

He died in Minnamurra in 1978.
