Claude Lachlan McKinnon
Claude Lachlan McKinnon (Service No 52732) was born in Bulli, N.S.W.
At enlistment in Bulli, N.S.W., he was 20 years old, single and worked as a horse driver.
Claude embarked on HMAT A18 Wiltshire with the 14th Light Horse Reinforcements on 10th June 1918 and disembarked in England on 17th July 1918. He was then sent to France, and on 29th May 1919, he was kicked by a horse injuring his left knee. Claude returned to Australia in July 1919, and was discharged on 2nd October 1919.
On 2nd April 1936, Claude married Lillian Dunk, in Wollongong, N.S.W.
On 26th April 1941, he enlisted for service in WW2 at Bulli, N.S.W. Claude served as Corporal McKinnon (Service No N277960) with the 11th Garrison Battalion until 17th May 1944.
Claude died in 1982, and is buried in Bulli Cemetry, Bulli, N.S.W.
