Frank Cooper (Service No 2628) was born in Woonona, N.S.W. around 1892.

At Frank was single, 24 years old, and his occupation was 'bushman'.  He embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A40 Ceramic with 55th Battalion, 6th Reinforcement on 7th October 1916. 

He arrived in England on 21st November 1916, but due to a pre-existing problem with his right knee was deemed to be unfit for active service.  He remained in England and was posted to the Postal Corps, however Frank was unable to carry out his duties, and was invalided back to Australia in July 1917.  He was discharged, medically unfit, on 27th October 1917.

After discharge Frank worked for the N.S.W. railways in Goulburn.  In 1922 he married Ethel Williams in Goulburn where they raised 2 sons.

Frank died in Goulburn Hospital in 1946; his service is commemorated by the Dapto Returned Services League.
