Details:

James Walton (234) was born in Mount Kembla in 1897. He was an 18 year old wheeler on enlistment. He embarked on HMAT A24 Benalla on 12th May, 1916 with A company 35th Battalion and saw service on the Western front. On 10th November,1917 he was wounded in action. He received a severe gun shot wound to his right thigh and left arm. He was returned to Australia in March 1918 and was discharged medically unfit on 12th November, 1918.
