William Walker (Service No 15297) was born in Jamberoo, N.S.W.

At enlistment William was single, 33 years old and a dairy farmer.  He embarked from Sydney on board RMS Mooltan with 1st Signal Squadron on 19th August 1916.

He arrived in Cairo on 21st September 1916 and saw service in Egypt and the Middle East. 

William was returned to Australia in July 1919 and was discharged on 2nd October 1919.  In 1926 he married Mary Ward in Wollongong, N.S.W. and they had one daughter.

William died in 1963 and is buried in Jamberoo Cemetery. His service is commemorated on the Jamberoo Anglican Church Honour Roll.
