Arnold Westley Burling
Arnold Burling (Service No 3460) was born in Lismore, N.S.W. around 1892.
Arnold was single, 22 years old, worked as a bank clerk & living at Fairy Meadow, N.S.W. when he enlisted. He had spent 18 months with the Senior Cadets, Newington College Corps.
He embarked on HMAT A60 Aeneas with 8th Reinforcements, 20th Battalion on 20th December 1915. After arriving in Egypt Arnold spent time with the 56th Battalion before transferring to the Field Artillery. He travelled with them to France and on 18th July was in a dugout at Fromelles with a number of others. Sometime between 1.30 and 2 pm, a shell hit the dugout killing all.
Arnold is buried in Rue-David Military Cemetery Plot I, Row E, Grave 41. His service and sacrifice is commemorated on the Balgownie War Memorial 1914 - 1918.

Middle name
Dear to whoever wrote this,
This information was really helpful for my school project however I believe their is a slight issue with the middle name. I have seen multiple sources say his middle name actually doesn’t have a T and is spelt like this ‘Wesely’
