Arthur Bedford (Service No 100) was born in Wollongong, N.S.W. around 1893.

He enlisted when he was 20 years old.  At that time he was single and employed as a clerk.

Arthur embarked from Sydney on HMAT A14 Euripides with 1st Field Ambulance on 20th October 1914.  He arrived on Gallipoli on 21st July 1915 and served till the evacuation.

After Gallipoli Arthur served in Egypt then was sent on to England, serving with the 3rd Australian General Hospital for a while.

Arthur then served in France.  On 13th June 1917 he was promoted to Corporal.

In September 1918 Arthur was returned to Australia for home leave, which was granted to men who had enlisted in 1914.

On 23rd January 1919 Arthur was discharged from the A.I.F.

In 1921 Arthur married Ivy Shields.
