Harry Alanson (Service No 4340) was born in Woonona, N.S.W. in 1895.

At enlistment Harry was single, 20 years old, worked as a clerk and had spent 2 years with 6th Australian Army Medical Corps.

He embarked from Sydney on RMS Mooltan with 3rd Australian General Hospital on 15th May 1915.  He arrived in Egypt and was sent to Gallipoli where he served until he became sick and was admitted to hospital on Lemnos on 2nd December 1915.

Harry returned to Egypt and served there until he was hospitalised due to illness a second time, on 17th June 1916.  He returned to duty on 5th July 1916.

Harry was then sent to England in September 1916, then on to France in April 1917.

His health was suffering and after a number of admissions to hospital in all areas he was returned to Australia in September 1918 serving as hospital staff.

Harry was discharged medically unfit on 26th December 1918.

In 1923 he married Mildred Cantor at Randwick, N.S.W. and they had one child.

Harry died in 1984.
