George Cavill (Service No 1868), was born in Bulli, N.S.W.

In 1907, he married Olive Dove, in Woonona, N.S.W.

George initially enlisted on 9th August 1915, as a single man who worked as a miner, noting his father as his next of kin. He was discharged in late September, and when he re enlisted in December, he was married, 36 years old, working as a station hand and had 2 children.

George embarked on HMAT A60 Aeneas, with 6th Light Horse Regiment, 13th Reinforcement, on 20th December 1915 and arrived in Egypt soon after. He was admitted to hospital on 7th March 1916, and diagnosed with heart problems. George was repatriated to Australia in April 1916, and discharged medically unfit with a pension, on 23rd August 1916. 

George died in Cessnock, N.S.W. in 1930.

George's brother, Walter (Service No 25628), also served.
