Frank Bullen (Service No 6863) was born in Kiama, N.S.W.

At enlistment he was 18 years old, single, worked as a driver and lived in Kiama, N.S.W. Frank had served 4 years with the Cadets and 3 months with the 37th Infantry Militia.

Frank embarked on SS Port Napier with the 8th Battalion, 22nd Reinforcement on 17th November 1916. He arrived in England on 29th January 1917 and served there until going to France on 6th March 1918. Frank was admiitted to hospital on 22nd June 1918 with severe influenza and deemed unfit for further active service. He was repatriated to Australia in December 1918 with effort syndrome and discharged medically unfit on 20th December 1919.

Whilst in England Frank met Violet Wildig. On 9th October 1918 the couple married, in Sussex, England and they raised 3 children.

Frank died in 1953.

His brother, John Francis Bullen (Service No 3011), also served.
